Pastel portraits from your own photographs
To produce a portrait that will do justice to the sitter I need at least one good, clear photograph, but preferably several taken from different angles. The subject should be in a pose that is pleasing to you and the photograph should show colours accurately. Take your time with the photos - try to capture that 'certain look' and get as close as possible at the same level as the subject - this is most important.
The better the photos, the more lifelike your painted portrait, as I can only draw what I see. The eyes are very important as they show true character and I love drawing them! Some information about the subject and their personality (happy, gentle, shy, extrovert etc) will help me to bring them to life. Your portrait will be with you for a long time so it's worth getting it right at this stage - if you like your photo, you will love your finished painting!
When the portrait is completed I will email you a digital proof. If there is any detail that you want changed it can be done at this stage.
