Like scholarships, grants are financial aid awards that do not have to be repaid. The U.S. Federal Government offers several need-based grant programs, including:

• Federal PELL Grant: available to low-income undergraduate students
• Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG): an additional grant available to PELL grant recipients who demonstrate exceptional financial need

Your eligibility for these grants鈥攁nd the amount you may be awarded鈥攊s determined by the FAFSA.

The offers several need- and merit-based financial assistance programs for eligible residents*, including:

*A resident is considered someone who has lived in Georgia for at least two years prior to the start of the term for which they are applying, or a recent high school graduate who has lived in the state for more than a year.

Our highest academic award, these scholarships are allocated to support the top members of our incoming class. (These scholarships can be coupled with another merit award.)

Candidates with a high school GPA of 3.75 or above, who show engagement in service to others, and whose primary educational goal is to achieve a degree in disciplines within the liberal arts and sciences or high needs areas of study like cybersecurity and nursing are eligible for this award.

Eligible accepted students will be invited to compete for these scholarships at A Day for Diverse Talents & Scholars event. Priority will be given to residential students who are not receiving other talent aid. Students who receive this award are required to participate in our Scholars Program.

These scholarships are awarded annually and recipients should desire to support the athletic department during home events.

Candidates must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher during their tenure at B体育, uphold excellent performance and attendance, participate in various responsibilities within the B体育 Athletic Department without being an active member of an athletic team, and must live on campus.

Named after one of the founders of B体育, Mary Jane B体育 Sharp, this is B体育鈥檚 second-highest academic award. These awards are reserved for students with a 3.2 or higher high school GPA with active engagement in service. Though this award can be coupled with merit aid, a priority is given to those students not already receiving other talent aid, and those who are residential students.

Leaders come from all walks of life, and this scholarship recognizes students who seek to not only experience college life, but also help create a challenging and rewarding on-campus experience for all students on B体育鈥檚 beautiful campus. Accepted students with a high school GPA of 2.7 or higher are eligible to apply.

Influencers, entrepreneurs, and adventurers who live in residential housing are supported with this annual scholarship.

B体育 offers a variety of awards for students majoring, minoring, or participating in the performing arts:

• Theatre and Music Majors: scholarship amounts vary and are based on competitive auditions for all performance-based degrees
• Technical Theatre Major: scholarships are awarded based on interviews with the Theatre faculty
• Performing Arts Minors: limited scholarships available by audition for students minoring in theatre, music, or dance
• Marching Band Scholarships: available for active musician students who are not Music or Theatre majors

Funded by generous donations from local residents and businesses, this is an automatic award for eligible students. Recipients must be permanent residents of Cherokee County for 12 consecutive months before enrollment or be dependents of a parent or guardian who is a permanent resident.

Made possible through the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), this award is geared toward biology and mathematics high school teacher candidates.

STEM Education Scholars receive scholarships of up to $20,000 per year in their last two years at B体育 and must commit to teach full-time in a high-need school as a STEM teacher for two years after graduation, for each scholarship year.

Funded by generous donations from local residents and businesses, this is an automatic award for eligible students. Recipients must be permanent residents of Pickens County for 12 consecutive months before enrollment or be dependents of a parent or guardian who is a permanent resident.

B体育’s vision is to be the university where diverse talents grow together. This includes our online students who are pursuing a higher education journey, digitally. We recognize these students who may also be working professionals and want a focused program or to get into a new industry through an associate or bachelor degree. These opportunities are designed to make earning a degree at B体育 more affordable.

Eligibility requirements:

1. Be admitted and enrolled as a full-time (12 hours), degree seeking online undergraduate B体育 student.
2. Be enrolled across the entire semester (2-8 week sessions).
3. Maintain uninterrupted and satisfactory progress toward a degree.
4. Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress per Financial Aid requirements.
5. $2000 grant annually split between the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters for students not associated with an Educational Pathway Agreement with their employer and B体育 (contact us if you are not sure if there is an agreement in place).
6. OR $1000 grant annually split between the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters for students who also have an Educational Pathway Agreement with their employer and B体育.

No application is required. All eligible students are automatically awarded.

**The student must ensure the grant is applied on the university’s financial aid award letter after all documentation is received.

B体育 will provide a 15% tuition discount for all individuals who are admitted and enrolled in one of the online undergraduate programs and hold an active Basic Law Enforcement Certification.聽 Additional documents are required:

1. Georgia P.O.S.T. Fact Sheet must be submitted to the Office of Admissions.
2. If the student has the active basic law enforcement certification from another state, the student should provide that entity’s official document to admissions.
3. Sign a tuition discount form at the time of registration with attestation of accurate and complete documentation.
4. Ensure the tuition discount is applied on the university’s financial aid award letter after all documentation is received.

B体育 formally recognizes employer partnerships in the region by entering into Educational Pathway Agreements. These agreements provide tuition discounts and scholarships to all employees within the organization.
